Welcome to
Monaco Violin

I've been playing violin since the age of three and hold an MFA in Music Improvisation and Literature from Mills College. For over a decade, I've taught private lessons to both children and adults, helping students build strong technical foundations while developing a personal connection to music.

I especially enjoy working with adult learners — whether you're picking up the violin for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to deepen your skills. My teaching combines solid technique and Suzuki-based principles with a flexible, personalized approach shaped around your goals and interests.

Teaching philosophyHow we teach
01

You set the pace

No rigid curriculum that rushes you. We move at a speed that feels comfortable, building confidence before moving forward.

02

Play from day one

You will make real music from your very first lesson. Simple songs, proper technique, and the joy of playing — not just endless exercises.

03

Mistakes are welcome

Every wrong note is a step toward a right one. Our teaching environment is built on patience, encouragement, and the understanding that growth is messy.
